The best 5 Android Apps to download along side Whatsapp, Viber & Google Maps

With WhatsApp, Viber and Google Maps being the top downloads of the month for Android devices, we decided to list another top 5 applications which will enhance performance of these applications and also your day to day usage of your smart device.

  • Google Voice
For those of us that like the mobility of having our communications on the road. Google voice will easily take priority over Skype or your inlaid text messenger pronto. Cross compatible alongside your PC, the app can actually give the user a singular number that can ring through as many devices as you’d like. Not to mention that it’ll block spam and implement the appropriate filters in order to assure the user’s absolute privacy. One of the best features that Google Voice allows is the mixture of cheap international calls as well as the uncanny ability to siphon through text messages on your PC.
  • Astro File Manager
Maintaining your expected level productivity on your Android mobile device requires you to trudge through files that’ve dropped into the Android file system. Which can be a horrendous mess altogether, since those files can literally be strewn everywhere, and anywhere besides where you’d probably like them to be. Astro File Manager hops right in and grants you the freedom to search your files no matter where they might be hidden on your device. It is accessible on your PC as well, and implements a search function so that you’ll be able to find that hidden file you might’ve saved on your phone weeks ago in a matter of moments.
With its relatively brand-new “Cloud Hopping” technology, Astro File Manager will allow you to seamlessly move files in-between various cloud storage services without even downloading them onto your phone first.

HOW TO IDENTIFY FAKE WEBSITES AND SCAMS.

The Internet can be a great way to find products and services that may not be readily available in your local area, however it is important for you to be able to tell by navigating around on a website whether or not it is legitimate. Sometimes there are individuals or businesses who set up websites specifically to collect your personal, private information or to trick you into purchasing nonexistent products or services. Continue reading to learn about the signs and ways to determine if a specific website is real and legitimate.

1. Look at the Google SafeBrowse report. Simply type in “http://google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=” before the site address in the address bar; Google will give out a report about this specific site

WHAT IS TIZEN OS?

Tizen has been in development for years. We saw some phones running it at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, where Samung also announced the Tizen-powered Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. Finally Samsung has launched the world's first Tizen OS smartphone in Russia —  the Samsung Z.

Up until now Samsung has been using Google's Android OS to run its range of Galaxy smartphones and tablets. However, the Korean manufacturer has confirmed its intent to go it alone, offering an alternative to Google’s mobile OS, iOS and Windows Phone.

So how does Tizen differ from Android? Here’s six things we know so far about the operating system that joins Firefox OS, Jolla Sailfish and Ubuntu Touch in the bid to shake things up.

We were quite impressed by Tizen. If you want an in-depth view you can read our preview and first impressions of Tizen, for a quick overview read on.

1. It’s open source

Samsung has worked with Intel to develop Tizen. It is Linux-based platform built from Nokia and Intel’s ditched MeeGo. The fact it is open-source, like Android, means that hardware manufacturers that choose to adopt it are free to tinker with the interface and the UI to make it as unique as they like.

Samsung has also taken some of the more interesting features that cropped up in Bada, its first attempt to go it alone on an operating sytem and built them into Tizen.

SAMSUNG HAS FINALLY REVEALED ITS FIRST TIZEN-BASED SMARTPHONE, THE SAMSUNG Z.

Samsung Electronics, the world’s No. 1 smartphone maker, has scored yet another hit; but this time, on a scale that will rock the smartphone world to the very extremes.

After years of rumours, speculation, and indeed high expectations, Samsung has finally revealed its first Tizen-based smartphone, the Samsung Z.

This will be the first commercially available smartphone powered by the Tizen platform, which Samsung has been developing in association with other tech companies such as Intel. The Samsung Z first went on display at the Tizen Developer Conference, held in San Francisco early this June 2- 4. The launch of the Samsung Z with 720p display, quad-core CPU, deals first major blow to Andoid OS.
The Samsung Z comes with a 4.8-inch HD (720p) Super AMOLED display with 2.3 GHz quad-core processor. The Samsung Z hosts an 8MP camera on the back, and a 2.1MP front camera which also feature many presets seen in Samsung’s Android phones such as Mini mode, Quick shot, Best Photo, Drama Shot and Panorama mode. The smartphone sports 2GB RAM with an internal memory of 16GB which is expandable up to 64GB through the microSD slot.
Since it runs Tizen the Samsung Z features a distinctive home and application layout. Using Dynamic Box and Color Theme settings, users can tailor their device to what suits them best. The app drawer seems to have been ditched with an iPhone-like all icons on the homescreen approach. In terms of design, the Z has squared-off edges, a good reminder of some of the company’s Bada-based phones. The back cover has the same faux-leather design popularised by the Galaxy Note 3 last year. The phone will be available in gold, as well as dark grey colours.

The Samsung Z also features a heart-rate monitor like the Galaxy S5
The smartphone provides connectivity options like WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. It hosts most of the features from the Galaxy S5 such as the accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, compass, barometer, fingerprint scanner, an hall effect sensor for enhanced motion tracking, heart rate sensor with the addition of an RGB ambient light. The Samsung Z uses a 2600mAh battery, which sounds plentiful, given that Samsung is talking up Tizen’s power management features as an advantage over Android. It is one of the reasons, the company moved to Tizen for its Gear series.

The Samsung Z will be available in Q3 starting in Russia and Samsung plans to expand to other markets soon after. Though IT & Telecom Digest could not authoritatively confirm this, however, it’s highly being rumoured that the company will be launching the Samsung Z in India as well.
